Streamlined employee, ESS and person hub view

Recently, Microsoft released new feature called “Worker header control“. With this feature, it replaces the existing worker header in the Streamlined worker form, Person hub form and Employee self-service. The header contains key information about the worker, and also single-click actions such as emailing, calling, or messaging. The header can be modified by removing fields or adding fields, including custom fields, to show additional information.

Pre-requisite

You must have 10.0.30 version installed in your environment otherwise this feature cannot be enable.

How to enable feature: Worker header control

To use this feature, go to feature management and enable the feature Worker header control.

Once the feature is enabled, you will see changes in below forms.

  • Worker form
  • Employee self-service
  • People hub

Let’s see in detailed what has been changed.

Worker page

Before

After

Microsoft added messaging functionality under worker page. When you click on the message icon, it will jump to team message. See an example below.

Employee self service

Before

After

There are many details added under ESS screen such as personnel number, title, employee type, current legal entity and numbers of legal entity for logged in user. On the right-hand side, you can see years of service, reports to and position type.

As an employee, you can see more information in ESS which is better view.

People hub

Before

After

The emailing and calling button are removed from the People hub after enabling this feature. The look and feel are changed. For example, the year of service, reports to and position type is moved to right hand side and rest of the information is on left hand side.

The look and feel can be changed but we need to create or extend the Less Style Sheet. This can be easily done by a developer.

If you are interested to extend the style sheet then you can see download the document from this link. The source of document is from below link.
