In the ever-evolving landscape of enterprise solutions, adaptability is key. Change the Core Product Name:

To align Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations with your HR-centric needs, changing the core product name is a strategic first step.

Step 1: Create new label file: ApplicationPlatform_Extension

Step 2: Select en-US language in label file wizard.

Step 3: Open the label file created in Step 2.

Step 4: Add the below label ID and label.

Step 5: Compile and sync model.

You will see core product name changed at the top header.
This change not only provides clarity but also establishes a user interface that resonates with your organization’s primary use case.


Turn Off Irrelevant Modules (Optional):

Disabling modules that are unrelated to Human Resources ensures a streamlined, intuitive user experience.

a. Enable Maintenance Mode:

  • Go to the environment details page.
  • On the “Maintain” menu, click “Enable Maintenance Mode.”
  • Set “Turn maintenance mode on” and confirm.

b. Turn Off the Configuration Key:

  • Access the Configuration Keys form.
  • Find the relevant configuration key for the module you want to disable.
  • Uncheck the “Enabled” box.

c. Disable Maintenance Mode:

  • Once the configuration key is turned off, disable maintenance mode.
  • Click “Disable Maintenance Mode” under the “Maintain” menu.
  • A servicing operation will begin, and your system will exit maintenance mode.

Assign Proper Roles and Security (Optional):

This an optional step, you can skip turn off irrelevant modules. Ensuring that users have the appropriate roles and security permissions is vital for a seamless and secure experience.

  • Review and update user roles based on HR-centric requirements.
  • Customize security settings to align with the functionalities enabled for your organization.
  • Regularly audit and refine security configurations to adapt to evolving needs.
